For the past five years, I've worked at Pinrose fragrances as Creative Director where I created and produced new products and packaging. Pinrose has remained a small team so I was apart of the entire process from idea to sourcing and from mock up to final production.
Pinrose started as a direct to consumer e-commerce brand. It is pretty difficult to sell fragrance when you can't smell it.
So if you can smell it, show it. Each scent has it's own personality that is shown with mood boards, patterns, color and shapes.
Secret Genius Shimmer Mist is the first every "visual perfume." I combined Pinrose's best-selling scent with a very subtle shimmer that is light, iridescent and not at all glittery.
The original bottle was a small, round cylinder which was ideal for an online store and delivery costs. But in a retail environment, amongst other bottles, it came up short.
The result was the same colorful design in a more precious, illuminated bottle. Each bottle was sprayed a unique color so the bottle looked amazing at every angle, facet and light.
